Bookkeeper/Accountant Assistant

This is a full-time permanent position with potential to negotiate school hours for the right person and salary as per the Clerks Award.

ABOUT the job: 

Your tasks will include but are not limited to: 

  • Bookkeeping (on behalf of clients)
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Bank Reconciliation
    • Payroll
  • Entry level Accounting:
    • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions
    • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management and financial reports
    • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly Activity Statements
    • Maintain organised financial records and ensure data integrity
  • General administration support to the team when required
  • Liaison with clients in person, by telephone and email
  • Supporting and liaising with all team members with queries when required
  • ATO Registrations – ABN, TFN, GST & PAYG
  • Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office 
  • Registration of Business Names
  • Liaising with banks and relevant organisations providing relevant information.
  • Ensuring a collaborative and professional team approach with all client interactions

ABOUT you: 

Full Permanent working rights

  • Current drivers licence AND own vehicle (ESSENTIAL)
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting time sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks)
  • High computer literacy including using Microsoft Office – Word & Excel (ESSENTIAL)
  • An ability to work in a professional and confidential office environment
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate preparation of documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent English both written & verbal
